Intermediate and Advanced Adult Dancers are invited to perform in the Land of Sweets (Act 2) as Polish Chrusciki
The performances will take place on Weds, Dec 23rd at 5pm and 7:30pm and there will be a mandatory dress rehearsal on Tues, Dec 22nd - both at Molloy University, Madison Theater.
Rehearsals will take place on Sunday afternoons through the fall and a specific calendar is provided at the link below.
Spaces are limited. This role is non-pointe (character shoes needed)

Pre-requisites skills for this choreography will include:
Side (parallel) cabriole jumps in low heel character shoes, Mazurka (a very fun, musical Polish folk dance which we will learn in rehearsal and fall classes), Running in low heels, Kneeling and rising without using your arms, Glissade pas de chat, Basic waltz en tournant, Single pirouettes, Well trained port de bras
The Mazurka role will not replace the volunteer roles for party scene parents and if you are wishing to participate in a lesser-involved capacity, we have ~10 adult roles for party scene parents (both men and women, and women willing to play men are needed). That role is volunteer (no rehearsal fee), first come-first serve, often filled by our kids’ parents, and meets for two rehearsals in late November on Sundays. Details will be forthcoming in September.

Details:
- Dancers will need their own pair of black, low heel, character shoes
- Dancers will need your own pink tights and skin tone camisole leotard
- Costumes will be borrowed from the studio and do not need to be purchased but there may be a $25 costume cleaning fee per dancer.
- Costumes will be traditional Slavic folk dance dresses with aprons and hair wreaths or traditional Russian hat. We are still considering both long and short skirt options and have not made a final decision yet.
- Rehearsals will take place on Sundays from ~2:10-4:10 according to the calendar at this link: https://www.integralballet.com/2026-rehearsal-calendar.html.
- We will rehearse 2:10-4:10 beginning Oct 11th
- It is best for dancers to be enrolled in the Sunday AM class to participate so to be properly warmed up to rehearse. The studio is very busy on Sundays and there isn’t much space for personal warm up.
- The rehearsal fee for Nutcracker is $216
- Please note that participants are not provided comp tickets to the production. Tickets to the performances are $46 per seat (all ages) and will go on sale in October.
